I was so excited to take pictures with our new camera. Unfortunately the fist 6-7 hours of the first day it was snowy and I was freezing so my iPhone sufficed. (also B was in his interview and so I had no one to pose for me, haha!)
Don't you worry too much. I think I got a few goodies.
Hi from New York City!!!
We landed in NY around 6:30pm. We took a bus, a train, walked a bit, hopped on a subway and finally found ourselves in Time Square! So, we both strolled the streets with our luggage rolling behind us. It was pretty hilarious. And even though it was difficult, our Shake Shack meal made it totally worth it. TALK ABOUT AMAZING.
I wanted Time Square to be our very first stop. And it had to be that night. Because really, Time Square during the day just doesn't compare. And although I don't love spending tons of time there (reminds me of the Vegas Strip, on steroids) it is such a huge icon of ny and walking up from the subway, for the first time ever, is pretty dang cool.
I totally love riding the Subway. It is so fascinating to me! New York's public transportation system is unlike anywhere else. I just love it. I also think I am getting it down prettttttty well.
Contrary to what this photo portrays, he was having a blast! :)
The next morning was Brady's interview at NYU. So, we got up way too early and headed into the city. (We were lucky enough to stay with my cousin, LeAnna who is just the best ever. And she lives in Brooklyn. So it was a little of a commute but totally worth it.) Brady and I made it to the school right on time and I dropped him off.
It was snowy so I went to find a cafe and hang out for a little bit.
Union Square Park. It was so pretty covered in snow!!
Soooo many flower stands... everywhere!! I wanted to buy a bunch and put them all over my apartment!
He is literally my favorite bean in this whole world.
And this is one of my absolute favorite parts of New York! Isn't is just so charming? I die. I would love to live somewhere like this. It would just complete me! haha (a little extreme I know)
We went to the Ground Zero 9/11 Memorial site after Brady's interview on Friday. It's amazing how peaceful the grounds are. Everyone was very reverent and respectful. All right in the middle of one of the loudest cities. It was really cool.
Every single person that was lost that day has their name engraved on one of the two pools that are in the exact place and the same size as the buildings when the stood.
IF YOU EVER GO TO NYC YOU MUST GET THE EMBARK APP! It is a total life saver.
My phone was dead, and Brady's was about to be... but we still needed to get home. So he took this with our camera just in case we needed a reference. Haha!
This is my favorite part about the city. The buildings. The architecture. Its all so stunning to me.
We saw so much more and did so many things. It was so so fun. By the end of the day we thought our feet were going to fall off and I felt like I had one of the best workouts of my life. Like, I was that sore. Amazing what 15-20 miles of walking does to you!! Anyway, we had so much fun on our first day, but nothing can beat day 2. :) stay tuned!
